Healthcare Production with a Human Pulse · New York
"Healthcare advertising that only explains rarely works. The brief is always the same: make the science feel like something a person can hold onto when the stakes are real."
Pharma is a category where craft carries real weight. Every frame holds a patient, a family, a decision. The responsibility isn't just to communicate, it's to be worthy of the moment the audience is living through.
LOBO Creative is a New York pharmaceutical and healthcare production studio with three decades of experience. We've produced DTC campaigns for global pharmaceutical companies, patient advocacy films for rare disease communities, medical animation and CGI scientific visualization, and educational content built to meet the standards healthcare demands. Our clients include Pfizer, Bayer, AbbVie, Cigna, Breztri, Listerine, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, and many of the world's leading pharma and health brands.
This category demands more than production expertise. It requires the judgment to know when emotion should support the science, and when science should step aside for human truth. LOBO has navigated that balance across nearly every major healthcare segment: oncology, rare disease, respiratory, immunology, consumer health, and patient advocacy. As a company based in New York City but with roots in and strong ties to São Paulo, we bring a truly global perspective to pharmaceutical communication.
The work shouldn't ask audiences to trust the pharmaceutical company. It should ask them to trust the patient. That difference is built frame by frame.
Signature Work
Here are six films that define how LOBO approaches one of the world's most consequential categories. DTC campaigns, patient advocacy, CGI-driven scientific visualization, and the human moments that make healthcare communication matter. Award-winning work from a New York production studio with global reach.
SAFE Project
FCB Health New York
A cinematic awareness film about how colder, darker days quietly increase alcohol consumption, rendered in a handcrafted paper-texture aesthetic that would have been difficult to achieve through a traditional pipeline at this scale. We trained custom AI models using our own 2D animation frames to preserve the papercraft look across every shot, then layered traditional animation craft on top, delivering the film on schedule and on budget without losing its tactile feel. The metaphor is simple and powerful: addiction is a snowball that begins small and ends up flattening a life.
Xifaxan
Salix Pharmaceuticals
OHE
DTC
A DTC campaign for Xifaxan (rifaximin), the first and only FDA-approved treatment for reducing the risk of overt hepatic encephalopathy recurrence in adults. LOBO brought the patient's cognitive fog to life through a seamless blend of live action and painterly illustration, making a complex neurological complication feel visceral and emotionally real for patients and caregivers alike.
American Lung Association
Ad Council
Cancer Screening
A striking PSA for the American Lung Association, raising awareness of the importance of cancer screening, especially among ex-smokers. A young woman faces something larger than herself, rendered with a visual style based on 3D CG with a 2D-like finish, suggesting a mixed-media hand-painted feel. Emotional, bold, and exactly the kind of healthcare storytelling that breaks through the category's visual conventions.
NMDP
Bone Marrow
Donor Advocacy
A 30-second OLV for NMDP (National Marrow Donor Program) that transforms the urgency of the bone marrow registry into a celebration of human connection. Live action, energy, and a call-to-action designed to move people. Because in this case, moving people can mean saving lives.
Breztri
AstraZeneca
COPD
DTC 60s
A 60-second DTC campaign for Breztri Aerosphere (budesonide/glycopyrrolate/formoterol fumarate), AstraZeneca's triple-combination inhaler for adults with COPD. The film translates the physiology of restricted breathing into emotional reality, making the relief delivered by the drug feel visceral before the science is ever explained.
Organ Donation
A 40-second advocacy film for organ donation that transforms the heart into a warm, charismatic felt character, with a hand-stitched, tactile feel. The miniature world he lives in makes one of medicine's most urgent conversations feel human and approachable, employing craft in service of something meaningful.
Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Production Capabilities · New York
From global DTC launches to rare disease advocacy, LOBO produces across the full spectrum of pharmaceutical and healthcare communication. We're one of the few production studios in New York with deep creative and technical expertise across every format the category demands.
01
Your patient is sitting with a diagnosis when they see your spot. They're not browsing: they're looking for permission to hope. DTC that truly works in that moment doesn't begin with the molecule. It begins with recognition: someone who looks like them, feels like them, found a path forward. That's when science earns trust.
02
Real patients on screen carry a risk actors don't: their story belongs to them, not the campaign. Advocacy films that endure, and genuinely move rare disease communities, are built around patients staying in control of their own narrative. Respecting their terms, not just the brand's messaging calendar.
03
Patients who understand their condition make better decisions, stay on therapy longer, and feel less alone. The real gap isn't between simple and complex: it's between clinical language and human language. A film that translates a mechanism of action into something a family can watch together is worth more than a congress deck.
04
The mechanism of action is often the most emotional part of a drug's story, the moment science becomes personal. Visualizing it well isn't about making it look impressive. It's about making patients feel that someone understood what was happening inside their body deeply enough to show it.
05
Physicians don't need to be impressed by production value. They need to feel that the people behind the work understood the science and respected their time. HCP communication that truly works is built around what clinicians need to know, in a form that holds their attention.
06
Consumer health lives between two responsibilities: making wellness feel achievable without overpromising what science can deliver. The brands that succeed here aren't the loudest: they're the ones patients return to because they were honest.
07
Pharmaceutical content at global scale faces a challenge: the amount of material required for every market, channel and language is impossible to produce without compromise. AI-enhanced production allows brands to maintain clinical accuracy and visual consistency across territories without the timelines or budget constraints that once made that impossible.
08
The emotional truth of a patient's experience doesn't change across markets. Regulatory language does. Effective global adaptation preserves the human core of a campaign while navigating fair balance, copyright and localization requirements territory by territory, so two patients on opposite sides of the world receive the same standard of communication.
