fable.works / Kansas City Chiefs / 2026
Overview
KC Wolf has stood on the Kansas City Chiefs sideline since 1989 without ever saying a word. KC Wolf Jamz is the first time he speaks, sings and carries his own story, across six micro music videos of thirty to sixty seconds that went out weekly on the team's YouTube channel through the offseason. It is the Chiefs' first dedicated run at kids programming, and the themes are ordinary on purpose: friendship, teamwork, healthy habits, self-expression. LOBO animated the series for fable.works.
The series
Episodes one and two premiered together on 30 May, then one a week every Saturday at 10am Central until the end of June. Each is a self-contained song.
The idea
The treatment set the rule early: at thirty seconds the comedy has to land immediately, so the title drops over the animation and the film kicks straight in. Fast cuts and bold compositions borrow the language of music video and the tropes of the feed. Backgrounds put the Wolf somewhere unlikely each time and mix drawing with photo-collage. Because every episode is a song, the typography is animated with the same care as the characters, and the Wolf reaches into the words on screen and pushes them around.

The character
The costume came first. The 2D Wolf keeps the mascot's silhouette and markings, but the pointy lines and sharp teeth were toned down until he read friendly rather than fierce. Expressions, wardrobe and a run of alternatives were drawn before a single frame was animated, and the cast grew outwards from him into the crew around him.
