Taco Bell
Overview
The newest Taco Bell spot, built in the AI pipeline: a launch film for Churro Chillers made at the pace the QSR calendar actually moves.
Delivered together
Churro Chillers and Cold Brew were made and delivered as one job, in the same sky, with the same rig. Neither is the follow-up to the other.
Taco BellCold BrewFinding the look
The treatment set the target early: the film should play as a light, elevated, almost celestial metaphor, with the product arriving like something revealed rather than served. Getting there took the frame through several worlds. An empty sky. Then hands presenting the cup. Then the cup standing on water. Then the full range under an aurora. The approved frame is the quietest of them, which is usually how it goes.

The board
The boards were drawn by hand and then run through AI to be coloured, which is the unglamorous, actually useful version of an AI pipeline: it does not invent the shot, it takes a drawing that already works and gets it in front of the client in colour the same day.

The range
The Chillers are the other half of the Live Más Café menu, and they get the same treatment: a nineties pop lockup per flavour, scripted and starburst, sitting in the same sky as the rest of the range so the whole café reads as one campaign. The Chillers set went through seventeen versions before it locked.

How it was shot
Motion control exists so a camera can repeat a move exactly, which lets you shoot the same three seconds again and again with one thing changed each time: the product, the lighting, the liquid, the ice. Those passes are then layered into one frame. Shot 050 of Churro Chillers was covered with a base pass and nine separate plates. Two camera bodies ran across the job, and the liquid work was done for real in tanks rather than simulated.
