Xbox / Brand Film / 25 Years
Overview
Xbox turns 25, and LOBO built the 75-second film to mark it, a fast-cut celebration of a quarter-century of play. Console heritage rendered at cinematic scale, every era of the brand compressed into one breathless run.

Coverage
Xbox announced the 25th Anniversary console at the Games Showcase. The film went out with it.

Before the shoot
The whole 75 seconds was boarded by hand before anything was built. Fifty four panels take it from a bedroom with a console under the television to the controller that carries the anniversary mark, and the film follows them closely.
It opens somewhere ordinary. Discs on a desk, a lava lamp, a console under a television, a bed. Then the room comes apart and the hardware carries the story instead, era by era, until the controller lands with 25 on it.
Boarding it this tightly is what let the film cut as fast as it does. The panels fix the geometry of each shot, so the build had a target rather than a search.
